Lokalise
A widely used localization platform with APIs, webhooks, branching, tasks, keys, files, translations, and integration workflows that can power customer-owned localization studios.
Concrete capability record
Data, retrieval, actions, identity, and operating limits
A field-by-field summary of what the reviewed first-party references actually support. Publisher update dates and BYO-UI review dates are shown separately below.
List and inspect projects, languages, contributors, tasks and progress, keys and translations, glossary terms, and screenshots through the selected toolkit.
Create projects and tasks, add target languages and contributors, update task assignments, add or update keys, upload files, manage glossary terms, and create or update screenshots; screenshot deletion is also supported.
OAuth 2.0 is recommended; scoped Lokalise API tokens are also supported. A plan with API access is required. OAuth or token scopes and project roles determine which reads and writes are available.
Use read-only credentials for analysis. Before writes, show the project, enabled toolkit, user context, affected languages or contributors, and the files, keys, tasks, glossary terms, or screenshots being changed.
The MCP server is beta, available in Lokalise Expert but not Vantage, split across project-management and software-development toolkits, and subject to Lokalise API rate limits and restrictions.
Agent access
MCP support
Support: Official MCP server
Read scope: Inspect project status, languages, contributors, task assignments and progress, keys and translations, glossary terms, and screenshot context.
Write scope: Create and update localization projects, tasks, languages, contributors, keys, files, glossary terms, and screenshots when the enabled toolkit and credentials permit.
Authentication: OAuth 2.0 is recommended; scoped Lokalise API tokens are also supported.
Approval boundary: Require confirmation before creating projects or tasks, changing contributors or due dates, adding languages, uploading files, editing keys or glossary terms, or deleting screenshots.
Confirm the current tool catalog, plan, region, scopes, rate limits, terms, and write behavior before implementation.

Access-maturity dimensions
A comparative architecture lens—not a quality score, market ranking, or buying recommendation. Scale: 1–5.
Proposed customer-shaped experiences
What customers could create on top.
The output could be an export, report, graph, artifact, application, agent, workflow, or downstream feed. These proposals are derived from documented access—not claims that Lokalise ships them.
Single-platform patterns
- Product and campaign localization studio
- Media production console
- Localization and variant studio
- Review-and-approval queue
Multi-platform compositions
- Lokalise + publishing or campaign platform: media production console
- Lokalise + DAM or CMS + social or video distribution system: cross-system decision workspace
Evidence and dates
First-party references, with publisher and review dates separated
“Publisher updated” is shown only when the page exposes an update date. “BYO-UI reviewed” records when this research checked the reference. A missing publisher date is reported as missing—not replaced with the review date.
